The Google Review Removal Playbook
Take down the Google reviews that break the rules. Answer the ones that don't.
One evening, one download. The exact process, policy wording and copy-and-paste appeals we use for clients, written for owners who have never lodged an appeal.
Instant download · 42-page PDF + templates + tracker · one-time payment
Built from more than 900 negative Google reviews across 54 businesses. Includes two approved appeals, shown exactly as they were lodged.
Who this is for
Built for the owner with a handful of bad reviews and no time
This is for you if
- You own or manage one to a few locations and have a handful of negative reviews you suspect should not be there.
- You would rather spend one evening on it than pay per review or wait weeks for an agency.
- You have reported a review before, been declined, and never knew why.
- You want the replies under the reviews that stay to work for you, not against you.
This is not for you if
- Your profile is under an active review-bombing attack, with dozens of new reviews a week. That needs a support case and daily reporting. Email us instead.
- You run a group or franchise with many locations. We run the whole method as a managed monthly service. Talk to us.
- You want someone to promise a review will come down. Nobody can, and the playbook does not pretend to.
After one evening you will have
- Every negative review sorted into three piles: file an appeal, lodge a free report, or reply.
- The exact phrase and breach number written down for each review you are reporting, with a screenshot saved.
- Your strongest reports lodged through the right tool, with the right reason picked from the cheat sheet.
- An appeal ready to paste the moment a report comes back declined, built on the template that matches the breach.
- A calm, specific reply drafted under every review that stays, and a tracker that tells you what to do next week.
Why most reports fail
Google removes rule-breaking words, not unfair reviews
Most owners click "report", pick a reason at random, get declined and give up. The ones who win do something different: they find the exact phrase, name the policy it breaks, and put the two side by side. That is the whole method, and this playbook hands it to you with the wording already written.
Spot it
Run every review through a 10-question quick test. For each of the 12 breaches you get wording that qualifies, wording that only looks similar, and the exact reason to pick.
File it
Both reporting routes, on computer and phone, with a one-page cheat sheet of the right option for every breach. Then the appeal, where most cases are won, with the form explained field by field and one review followed from start to finish.
Win the rest
For every review that stays: reply templates that make you look better than the review makes you look bad, the routes beyond the appeal, and how to move your rating with new reviews.
What is inside
Everything we use for clients, in one download
The 12 breaches, with examples
Threats, hate speech, private details, swearing aimed at a person, being called criminals, attacks on named staff, admitted non-customers, wrong business, conflicts of interest, demands, and more. Each one is a case type we file for clients.
Filing, step by step
Reporting from your Business Profile and from Google's Reviews Management Tool, which reason to pick in each, how to check status, and how to pace your reports.
The appeal, done properly
The two fields that matter, the structure that can be checked in ten seconds, and what the strongest appeals leave out.
12 copy-and-paste appeal templates
One for every breach, numbered to match, with the correct policy name, fill-in fields highlighted, worked examples, and a three-sentence formula for the one paragraph you write yourself. Also supplied as plain text so they paste cleanly.
9 reply templates
Price, slow service, quality, rude staff, refund disputes, your own mistakes, reviewers you do not recognise, star ratings with no words, and a firm reply for a review you dispute. Plus the 10 rules of a reply that wins the next customer.
Beyond the appeal
Resolving it with the customer, a report from the person who was attacked, Google's legal removal form, the EU's formal second look, and how many new reviews it takes to move your rating.
Two appeals that won
Two of our own approved appeals, shown as they were lodged, with Google's decision alongside. See the technique that works before you write your own.
Free updates for 12 months
Google moves its menus and forms. When it does, we update the book and email you. Your download link always holds the latest edition.
Quick-start card, tracker and checklists
The whole method on one printable page, a spreadsheet-ready tracker for every review, report and case ID, a first-24-hours checklist, and pre-flight checks for reporting, appealing and replying.
Written from real cases
Built from the reports, appeals and decisions we handle for clients every week, including the wording that comes back approved.
Look inside
Three pages from the playbook

Proof, not promises
The same words are inside the book
This is Google's decision on an appeal we lodged for a client. The review called the business scammers. The first report was declined. The appeal, written the way template A5 is written, was approved and the review came down. Both approved appeals are reproduced in section 4 so you can see the technique before you write your own.

Your options
Can't you just report it yourself for free?
Yes, and you should. Reporting is free and the playbook uses Google's own tools, the same ones every agency uses. The difference is what you pick and what you write. Here is how the routes compare.
| Report and hope | Removal agency | Defamation lawyer | The Playbook | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | $500+ per review, or a monthly retainer | $3,000+ opening retainer | $99 once |
| What you get | A guess at a dropdown | The same Google form, filled in for you | A letter, and months of waiting | The method, the policy wording and every template |
| Access to your account | None | Usually required | Not needed | None. You file from your own account |
| Time to first report | Tonight | Days to weeks | Months | Within the hour |
| Replies to the reviews that stay | You are on your own | Rarely included | No | 9 templates and the 10 rules |
| Every profile you own, forever | Yes | Paid per review | Paid per matter | Yes |
Add the Response Pack
Want your replies written for you?
Most reviews stay up, and what you say underneath them is what the next customer reads. Tell us where your profile is and how you want to sound, and we write a reply for each of your 25 most recent negative reviews: specific to what each customer said, calm, never defensive, and ready to paste. You read them, change anything you like, and post them yourself. No access to your profile needed.
Tell us about you
After checkout you fill in a short form: your profile, the name to sign with, your contact details, your tone, and anything you have fixed or changed.
We write every reply
Each one answers that customer's actual complaint. We never invent facts or promises on your behalf, and a person reads the whole pack before it goes out.

FAQ
Before you buy
Will this get my review removed?
Google makes every decision, so nobody can promise an outcome, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What this gives you is the method, the policy wording and the written arguments that professionals use, so every report and appeal you lodge is the strongest version of your case.
Can't I just report it myself for free?
You can, and reporting stays free. Most owner reports are declined because they pick a reason at random and argue about what happened. The playbook gives you the exact phrase to quote, the reason to pick for each breach, and appeal wording of the kind that has come back approved.
Do I need to give anyone access to my account?
No. You do everything from your own Google account, which is also why your reports carry the business's standing. No agency login, no shared passwords.
How long does Google take?
Reports usually come back within a few working days, sometimes longer, and appeals take longer again. The playbook includes a decoder for every email Google sends so you always know what it means and what to do next.
Do I need to be technical?
No. It opens with a one-hour plan and explains every code before it is used. Every step says what to click and what to type, and the templates are fill-in-the-blank.
How do I get it?
Pay securely by card and you are taken straight to the download page. You get a ZIP file containing the PDF, the templates as plain text, and the tracker.
Does it work outside Australia?
Yes. Google's review policies and reporting tools are the same worldwide. The playbook includes the extra route available to businesses in the EU.
Is this legal advice?
No. It is practical guidance on Google's own reporting and appeal process. Where a legal route exists, the playbook explains what it is and when to speak to a solicitor.
Can you just do it for me?
The replies, yes: that is the Response Pack, written for your reviews and delivered within 2 business days. If you run several locations or a group, we also run the whole method as a managed monthly service. Email hello@credbolt.co with the number of locations.
What if I get stuck?
